美國公共電視網（PBS）針對學齡前兒童制作的壹系列最新科學節目，但它真的能夠教導孩童科學嗎？究竟兒童是如何學習事物的，相關研究對于人們決定這類節目是否值得觀賞時，提供了有用的指導。        任職于兒童媒體研究與咨詢公司（MediaKidz Research & Consulting）的費雪（Shalom Fisch）表示，學齡前兒童處理信息的能力有限，他們可能對那些直接串連成故事的教育內容比較容易了解。在那樣的方式下，故事的情節與課程內容並不會競爭認知的資源。    PBS的節目「恐龍列車」（Dinosaur Train）主要目的則是爲兒童奠定良好的推理基礎。每集節目都以「今天我們將造訪三角龍並找出牠們所吃的食物」之類的介紹做爲開場白，幫助孩子將注意力放在正確的地方。然後劇中角色開始推理，例如檢查恐龍的嘴巴與牙齒，來推斷不同恐龍的食物。這爲兒童提供了壹個模板，讓他們可以據此進行嚴謹的思考。  Dinosaur Train is an animated series for 3-to-6 year olds created by Craig Bartlett and produced by the Jim Henson Company for PBS Kids. The series features a curious young T. Rex named Buddy who, together with his adopted Pteranodon family, takes the Dinosaur Train to meet, explore, and have adventures with all kinds of dinosaurs
