　　提起Maurice Sendak（莫裏斯.桑達克），他在1963年發表的驚人作品《Where the Wild Things Are》， 1964年獲得凱迪克金牌獎的《Where the Wild Things Are》，出版後對繪本童書造成多麽大的沖擊與影響。
　　1952年發表第壹本作品《A Hole is to Dig》開始，1996年拿到美國National Medal of Arts的Maurice Sendak，除了是個會帶著三只小狗在公園裏散步的老爺爺，洋洋灑灑的得獎資曆耀眼異常。不僅是第壹位榮獲「國際安徒生大獎」的美國插畫家，亦五度獲得美國童書的最高榮譽「凱迪克大獎」。
